Jerry Ware

-Savannah - Jerome Whalen "Jerry" Ware, 84, died November 7, 2009 at Hospice Savannah, Inc. He was born in Savannah, son of the late John D. Ware, Sr. and Mary Whalen Ware. He was a 1943 graduate of Benedictine Military School and attended St. Leo's College. Mr. Ware was a United States Navy Veteran serving during World War II. He was retired from Union Oil Company, formerly Pure Oil Company. He was a sixty three year member of the Knights of Columbus Council 631, St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee and a former member of the Irish Heritage Society. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dr. John D. Ware, Jr. and Reverend Joseph F. Ware and sister, Rosemary C. Ware.
Surviving are his brothers, Thomas W. Ware, Sr. and his wife, Agnes and Michael E. Ware, Sr. and his wife, Elizabeth all of Savannah; and nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 9, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with a Vigil Service 6:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with The Reverend Jeremiah J. McCarthy, Celebrant.
Burial: Catholic Cemetery.
